For many, many years, traditional Scottish Highland Games have taken
place throughout Scotland, including games on the picturesque Loch
Earn. The villages of Balquidder, Lochearnhead and Strathyre hold
their annual games at the Games Field in Lochearnhead.
The games are to take place on the penultimate weekend in July.
Come and experience the thrills and spills, grunts and groans of
the Highland Games as well as other Scottish entertainment including
a pipe band, highland dancing and many other fun events for Adults
and children alike. Other facilities include stalls selling local
arts and crafts, confectionary and clothing, as well as on field
bar and food.
On the third weekend of August, the nearby town of Crieff plays
host to its own Highland Games, a tradition that has taken place
since 1870. This offers you a second chance to witness a truly traditional
Scottish event.
